Today is International Day of Charity; a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the difference that a little kindness, generosity and community spirit can make. Every day, our students learn, create, grow, work and have fun across our sessions, but we couldn’t do what we do without the people around us.  At The Fifth Trust this special day serves as a reminder of how much we value our community and the support they provide us. If you’ve ever wondered how you can get involved, or you’d simply like to spread a little kindness today, here are some easy ways you can support The Fifth Trust today and every day.

  • Make a donation – every contribution, big or small, helps us continue providing meaningful opportunities and experiences for adults with learning disabilities.
  • Come and visit us – pop along to our vineyard site in Barham, explore the Vineyard Garden Centre and Café, alongside The Gift Shack, enjoy something delicious and take a look at the wonderful things our students help create.
  • Volunteer your time – if you have a few hours to spare, there are lots of ways you can get involved and make a real difference.
  • Get your workplace involved – could your organisation support us through a corporate volunteering day, donate materials or useful items for our sessions, or find another way to lend a hand?

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make the biggest difference. A few hours of your time, some spare materials, a visit to our café or a small donation can all help us create more opportunities for our students.

So, this International Day of Charity, we’re asking our community to keep supporting us, spreading the word and getting involved. Because it really does take a community – and we’re very lucky to have a brilliant one!
