It served us well, but this week it was time for the first of the wooden buildings that used to make up our Barham skills centre to be demolished.
The old art building was bulldozed as our £1.9 million redevelopment of the site drew near to a close. We have already settled into two new classrooms with the third building, a spacious amenity hub, just weeks from completion.
The Fifth Trust moved into the first purpose-built wooden workshop in the ground of Greenbanks home for adults with learning disabilities in 1991, following a £45,000 fundraising campaign. Residents were able to take part in a range of creative classes.
Three decades on and an exciting new era for the Trust begins, in our new accessible, environmentally-efficient skills centre.
